The Community of Greatwood has retained Wade & Associates to conduct a smoke testing program within portions of its wastewater collection system. The goal of the study is to perform a condition assessment and to identify I/I (inflow and infiltration) leaks that can contribute to sanitary overflows and backups in the system.
This sanitary sewer evaluation study includes smoke testing investigations of approximately 155,000 linear feet of sanitary pipeline. Residential door hanger notification for smoke testing of sanitary sewer lines in the Study Area will be distributed at least 2 days before testing in the area begins. Smoke testing technicians carry identification and use marked company vehicles.

We make every effort to coordinate these activities with community officials in the area to limit traffic disruption and to avoid interference with planned community-wide events.
Our goal is to find and reduce defects in your wastewater collection system in order to eliminate future sanitary sewer overflows, wastewater backups, and to control wet-weather flows. Inflow & Infiltration reduction reduces operating costs, improves the infrastructure, and protects the health and well being of the public as well as the environment.
