Smoke Test Line Defect

The City of Macon, Missouri has retained Wade & Associates to conduct a Smoke Testing Program for its Sanitary Sewer Pilot Study Program.  The goal of the smoke testing program is to perform a condition assessment and to identify I/I (inflow and infiltration) leaks and breaks that can contribute to sanitary overflows and backups in the system.

This sanitary sewer evaluation study includes smoke testing investigations of approximately 4,200 linear feet of older clay sewer pipeline.

Residential door hanger notification for smoke testing of sanitary sewer lines in the Pilot Study Area will be distributed at least 2 days before testing in the area begins.  Smoke testing technicians carry identification and use marked company vehicles.

We make every effort to coordinate these activities with community officials in the area to limit traffic disruption and to avoid interference with planned community-wide events.

Our goal is to find and reduce defects in your wastewater collection system in order to eliminate future sanitary sewer overflows, wastewater backups, and to control wet-weather flows.  Inflow & Infiltration reduction reduces operating costs, improves the infrastructure, and protects the health and well being of the public as well as the environment.

We would like to thank the citizens of Macon, Missouri  for their effort in making this important project a success!
